Susan Hurley
My name is Susan Hurley. As long as I can remember, drawing and painting watercolors have been my passion. Growing up in Western Pennsylvania and spending a lot of time outdoors gave me an appreciation for the uniqueness and beauty of the natural world. This is often found in my subject matter. My artwork was often put on hold as I raised 3 daughters and worked in a career as an R.N.
However I completed courses at Tidewater Community college and received an A.A. degree in fine arts. Eventually I was also able to study with Cheri Walton, a well known artist in Eastport Maine.
My husband and I followed our daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren to Eidson, TN. in 2004 after retiring. The mountain setting has been a continual inspiration to my work as is the privilege of being a member of the Local Artist Gallery.
