Guerry Mc Connell a.k.a "Recycling Rubie"
GUERRY MCCONNELL, Storyteller, Humorist, Songwriter, Singer, Workshop Leader, and Recycle Artist.
As a contributing artist to the Local Artists Gallery in Rogersville, Guerry offers usable artwork made with repurposed/recycled materials. Her bookbags, shoulder bags, neck and belt purses are on display in the Gallery, as well as decoupaged hardcase suitcases for decorative storage. Other items evolve as Guerry discovers more found materials with which to work.
Guerry also hosts a monthly storytelling swap in the gallery; and has conducted a Basic Storytelling Skills workshop sponsored by the Rogersville Art Council.
Guerry’s performance material covers folk tales, fables, family stories, humorous tales, as well as, original material covering historical events and characters. She uses guitar accompaniment, folk songs and original songs as part of her presentations. She has recordings available at the Gallery.
As a tour guide, she conducts tours of downtown historic Rogersville for the Heritage Association. Call 423-272-1961 to arrange a group tour.
